Summary

The report “GAP analysis: Projection of human activities and pressure factors” is a three-step iterative analysis that projects the Marine Strategy Framework Directive’s indicator towards 2030. The analyses are built on three steps that include coupling of human activities and pressures, a projection of human activities towards 2030 and, finally, a projection of indicator development towards 2030. The projections are, as far as possible, a short quantitative analysis. Where quantitative projection is not possible, the analysis is qualitative. Whenever possible, the importance of climate change is taken into account. The Ministry of Environment has requested the effect of planned national and international efforts to improve the marine environment to be excluded in the analysis. The Ministry of Environment wants to be responsible for this part itself. If it is unavoidable to take into account efforts, such as efforts that have already been implemented (but have not had an effect yet), this should be noted for each descriptor.
