New director of DCE – Danish Centre for Environment and Energy
As per 1st August 2012, chief consultant Hanne Bach, DCE, is the new director of DCE - Danish Centre for Environment and Energy, Aarhus University.
As per 1st August 2012, chief consultant Hanne Bach, DCE, is the new director of DCE - Danish Centre for Environment and Energy, Aarhus University. Hanne Bach succeeds Kurt Nielsen, vice-dean for Knowledge Exchange at the main academic area Science and Technology. Kurt Nielsen has held both positions since the establishment of the centre 1st July 2011, and as vice-dean he will continue working with knowledge exchange within the entire main academic area.
Hanne Bach graduated as chemical engineer from DTU in 1986 and has an extensive both Danish and international career. From 1999-2008 she was Research Director of the National Environmental Research Institute's Department of Policy Analysis, and from 2008-2011 she was Technical Advisor for the Mekong River Commission's environment programme, working in Vientiane, Laos.
Since autumn 2011, Hanne Bach has worked as chief consultant at DCE with project management, coordination and quality assurance of the university's research-based policy advice within the field of environment and nature, with special responsibility for the following areas: arctic environment, atmospheric environment and socio-economic perspectives for environment and nature.

The most important contracts of Aarhus University have been made with the Danish Ministry of the Environment, the Danish Ministry of Climate and Energy and the Greenland Bureau of Minerals and Petroleum.
DCE - Danish Centre for Environment and Energy coordinates and contributes to the quality assurance of the university's research-based advice to ministries and other users of the university's advice within the field of environment and energy. The centre is situated partly at AU Roskilde, partly at AU Silkeborg.
