Abstract:
Trophic interactions between species in ecosystems are often represented as food webs.
These trophic networks depict who eats whom and provide details on the amount of biomass that flows from prey to predators. Food webs are routinely investigated by a set of techniques called Ecological Network Analysis (ENA). ENA characterizes the "anatomy" of the trophic flow networks, thus informing about history, current status and functioning of ecosystems.
These trophic networks display many analogies with human networks for the circulation of natural resources.
