Other DCE tasks

Via the two departments, DCE is responsible for monitoring the air, open sea areas and a number of species of flora and fauna. Under the auspices of the Ministry of the Environment, the Danish Nature Agency monitors the environment in the agricultural catchments, groundwater, lakes, streams, fjords, coastal sea areas, and flora and fauna, as well as terrestrial natural habitats.

DCE collects information from monitoring under NOVANA in nationwide reports (in Danish only) and – by agreement with the Nature Agency – reports monitoring data to international organisations and conventions, including the European Environment Agency (EEA).
