Denmark’s annual national inventory report on air pollution to the UN is rock solid – and has now been awarded for its reliability. The team from DCE – Danish Centre for Environment and Energy, Aarhus University, preparing the report for the Ministry of Environment and being responsible on behalf of the ministry, was at a UN meeting in Bern in Switzerland awarded the prize of “most reliable reporting”.
The national inventory report on air pollution is prepared each year in compliance with the Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution (UNECE LRTAP) and its annexed protocols. Emission data and accompanying information are reported relative to the convention.
In connection with the inventory report the members of the ”Emission inventory group” at DCE – Danish Centre for Environment and Energy, Aarhus University – participate in the annual meeting of the expert panel for emission inventories and projections (TFEIP) under the convention.
In connection with the annual TFEIP meeting prizes are awarded for the countries’ reports for a number of categories:
- Most comprehensive report
- Most innovative report
- Most user-friendly report
- Best report among small countries (< 5 mill.)
- Best designed report
- Most reliable report
This year Denmark was nominated in categories 1, 3 and 6 and won the prize for most reliable report.
