Greenhouse gases

The human emission of greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide) upsets the heat balance in the soil / atmosphere system and threatens to bring about global climate change. It will affect virtually all human and natural phenomena and activities on Earth. Not all effects will be negative, and you will be able to mitigate the effects of a sensible adaptation.

  • The institute participates in climate research in various areas:
  • The department conducts research on climate change in Greenland and the Arctic.
  • The institute continually reports on Denmark's emissions of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere.
  • The institute has examined the effects of climate change and the adaptation possibilities in Denmark.
